Laughing

One of our strengths is the genuine sense of community that exists within our school. We all know the importance of laughter and at Our Saviour there are many community and school events and activities where people can share and celebrate their children and each other.

Our buddy programme, Science Week, Book Week and other events that focus on a particular Unit of Inquiry, are highlights and opportunities where students have fun together while they are learning. Special lunches for the students, along with Spring Fairs, Quiz Nights, SRC activities, Sports Days, Red Faces talent quest and many other activities provide opportunities for people to feel involved and included as part of a supportive community. Our weekly assemblies provide another chance for children and parents to share in their achievements and to rejoice in the simple things in life. It is so important to feel as though you belong and at Our Saviour we trust you’ll feel part of the family soon after you arrive.

As a school working towards authorisation with the International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Program, our students are encouraged to be risk takers and reflective often resulting in laughter! It is good to know that mistakes are a part of life, and it is through our mistakes we can learn. When we can look at ourselves with humour, and see our mistakes for what they are, a part of learning, we become more balanced and willing to take those risks!
